FAQ’S

What can I expect from your approach?

I take a more active approach in the therapy relationship, meaning I am an active participate in session. I believe my role is to come alongside you and join you on your journey, wherever it takes us and for however long we are together. I do not have “the answers” but together we can cultivate a space in which we can hopefully move closer to what you are seeking.

What are your qualifications?

I have been practicing for nine years and in private practice for seven of those years. I hold a license in mental health counseling through Washington State along with a certificate as a clinically certified trauma professional through Evergreen Certificates. I have worked with a wide range of clients over my time in practice, this includes age, gender, race and stages of life.

What if I am unsure if I can afford your out of pocket rate?

The cost of therapy can often be overwhelming, especially when working with a clinician who does not bill insurance. Here are a few things to consider if you are feeling stressed about the financial cost:

  1. Does your insurance cover out of network benefits? If yes, I can provide you with a monthly superbill. Some insurance companies will fully reimburse or even partially reimburse if you have out of network benefits.

  2. Consider less frequent sessions, while I always recommend starting with week to week we can always pivot to something that works better financially if need be.

  3. Ask about sliding scale, I keep four slots in my schedule for clients who do not have the means to pay my full rate. Your sliding scale rate will be determined between you and I and what you can reasonably afford.

What can I expect

from our first session?

The first session is really just a conversation. It’s a chance for you to share a little about what brought you in and ask questions about how therapy works. You don’t need to have all the answers or explain everything perfectly. Most importantly, it’s a space where you can start to get a sense of whether this feels like the right fit.

You may feel nervous at first—that’s completely normal.
