About Lea

As a licensed mental health counselor, my mission is to empower and support individuals on their journey to rediscover deeper connections with themselves, others, and the world. Life's challenges often pull us away from our true selves, leaving us feeling lost, stressed, and isolated. In the therapeutic space, I strive to create a supportive environment where individuals can reconnect with themselves, fostering growth and finding healing through safe and reliable connections.

The name Pacific Peak Counseling is a reflection of my roots in the Pacific Northwest and my enduring love for the surrounding mountains. Mountains, with their daunting challenges and breathtaking beauty, serve as a powerful metaphor for life's struggles and triumphs. I believe that, much like climbing a mountain, engaging in counseling can be a courageous journey. While it may seem intimidating, with the right counselor, a safe space, and a willingness to be open, no mountain is too large to conquer.

I earned my Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Central Washington University in 2016. My entry into this field was fueled by personal experiences with mental health, a profound fascination for the human experience, and a genuine passion for caring for others. Following graduation, I dedicated two years to working at a long-term inpatient facility for pregnant and parenting women in recovery from drugs and alcohol. This experience deepened my understanding of the resilience inherent in the human spirit and the transformative power that individuals can discover within themselves even in the darkest of times.

In our therapeutic journey together, my commitment is to provide a space where you can explore, heal, and rediscover your inner strength. Your courage in facing life's challenges is acknowledged and respected, and I am here to support you every step of the way.

What you can expect from my approach

I approach our therapeutic journey with the belief that curiosity is a powerful tool, one that allows me to connect more deeply with you. In my practice, I recognize and respect that you are the expert in your own experiences. Through a psychodynamic and systemic lens, I hold the belief that you already possess the innate wisdom and resources within you; our journey is about rediscovering and tapping into that knowing. Together, we will delve into the internal landscape, encouraging a curious exploration of your identity and shedding light on patterns that may no longer serve your growth and well-being.

My goal is to create a therapeutic space where you feel safe, held, and validated. Your experiences are unique, and I am here to support and guide you, always with an affirming approach. While providing affirmation is crucial, I also recognize the importance of accountability. I am committed to navigating this delicate balance—encouraging your growth while acknowledging the responsibility we both share in the therapeutic process.

I firmly believe that every individual, regardless of gender, race, or disability, is deserving of healing, love, and acceptance. My practice is rooted in inclusivity, and I welcome you with open arms. It is an honor to be a part of your journey, and I am committed to walking alongside you as you explore, heal, and discover the strength within yourself.
